For affiliates, we’ve put together some quick tips that you can implement now and ongoing to help you increase your website conversions and start earning more.

Optimizing your affiliate conversions may sound complicated, but you may be surprised. In fact, it can be very simple with the right tools and strategy. The secret is laying down the fundamental groundwork and your affiliate website will be earning before you know it.

There are a number of ways to optimize your affiliate revenue stream. Many will focus on how to drive traffic to their websites. Today we will focus on another important area — your conversion rate(s). This is because the conversion path can have a significant impact on your results.

Tip 1: Product Selection

Having the right product mix plays an important role in your site’s performance. Find products that fit both your preferences and your audience.

Try to avoid promoting products just to make money. This is a common mistake and one of the reasons why a number of bloggers or publishers are not successful with affiliate marketing. You want to come across as genuine to your audience. You’ll build their trust and be seen as a credible source. Your audience will be more likely to return to your site for guidance and advice for future buying decisions.

Being selective on what you promote is vital if you want to increase your affiliate conversions. Your website affiliate promotions should be what your audience is genuinely interested in and how it could help solve their problems. In other words, you provide solutions and considerations to their problems, and this will build your online reputation.

Tip 2: The Power of CTA Buttons

A Call To Action (CTA) is a button you use to guide users towards your goal conversions.

Simple and easy, a CTA button must have a very specific and clear request for your audience. Some examples are: “Apply Now” or “Download Guide.”

Using clear and direct text that tells your audience what will happen once clicked will help provide a quality experience for your users, which will in turn have a positive impact on your conversions.

CTA buttons can be included in every article/webpage. The most effective CTAs are clearly identifiable. One thing to take into consideration is that a vast majority of readers will scan an article and click on what is most prominent. This goes hand in hand with the colors you use for your buttons.

Colors can influence the CTA conversions immensely. According to WordStream, Green and Orange buttons tend to perform well. Consider this, as well as your website colour theme and site design to ensure a cohesive, clean visual experience.

Here are some examples:

Tip 3: Use of Tables

Having a user-friendly website makes all the difference in conversion success. For now, we will highlight the capability of using tables in order to get more clicks on your affiliate links.

Using a table is an easy way for your viewers to compare products in a digestible way. This is helpful for readers who know what they are looking for, as tables provide quick access to links with a couple of scrolls. Tables generally work effectively if your website is a listicle style and also if you want to compare two products side by side.

Tip 4: Connect With Your Readers

Social media is a great way to connect with your readers and increase conversion rates. As pointed out in Affiliate Marketer Training, mastering social media platforms helps not only as a traffic source to your website, it also opens a conversation opportunity between you and your higher intent, engaged visitors.

With that, they tend to have a higher probability of converting as your website hits the right notes. Staying active and engaging with your audience will demonstrate to your readers that you’re involved and addressing any questions they may have.

Next Steps

Affiliate marketing is both a marketing and business growth tactic. It is most effective when you can provide value and insight to your audience, so keep this in mind when looking to optimize your website performance.

Regular and frequent updates and improvements will help you achieve a positive uplift in performance, and you can build out a plan by quarter to tackle and incorporate some of the above tips into your strategy.
